ohh so brīvdienas can be weekend or holidays, that explains why my notes looked contradictory lol

vīkends is around in speech and ads, but it has that borrowed/colloquial feel. For a school text or a normal work email I would stick with nedēļas nogale or brīvdienas, vīkends sounds a bit too casual

Friday goodbye is Jauku nedēļas nogali!, not nogalē. nogali is accusative there, kind of like there is a silent novēlu before it. I hear learners mix this one up a lot.
