Real conversations don't happen in a recording studio. There's traffic outside, a keyboard nearby, and the occasional moment when you stop to think of the right word.
That's what the latest update to Speaking Practice is about.
Interruptions no longer cut a reply short. If you cough, or the room echoes back what the character just said, they'll pause and then carry on. But if you really do want to jump in, they'll stop and listen.
Pauses are handled better too. Stop to think in the middle of a sentence, and the conversation waits for you. Finish speaking, and your response is recognized right away instead of waiting while the microphone listens to your chair.
Stray noise no longer counts as speech. A click near the microphone used to leave the conversation waiting for something more. Now it simply passes unnoticed.
We've also improved recognition for the words that matter to you. If you're talking about your job or a name you've introduced, those words are much more likely to be recognized correctly.
The result is speaking practice that works the way conversations do: in a normal room, with everyday noise around you.
