For journal articles, "revise and resubmit" is bigger than fixing commas. It usually means answer reviewers and send a changed manuscript back, sometimes with major changes and another review round.

In Singapore English this isnt odd either. I grew up hearing "revise for exams" all the time, while a US teacher would probably say review or study. So dont mark it wrong just because it sounds weird in American English.

The object trips people up. In BrE you can revise biology, revise your notes, or revise for biology. "Revise for the notes" is wrong, the for is for the exam/test.

In UK school talk, revision is the noun everyone uses: revision timetable, revision notes, revision session. If you say "exam review session" to me I understand it, but it sounds a bit American and official, not what pupils usually say.
